Filling
- 10 cups Water
- 2 ½ cups Honey
- 1 cup Cornstarch
- 2 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1 tsp. Nutmeg
Bring ingredients to a boil and stir. Put 2 cups of mixture into quart sealers. If using other sizes of jars, fill half full. Peel apples and press down into mixture. Put lids on and process for 20 to 30 minutes.
Granola Pie Crust
- 1 ¼ cups Oats
- ½ cups Flour or Brown Rice Flour
- ¼ Sesame Seeds
- 3 tbsp. Sunflower or Pumpkin Seeds, chopped
- 1 tsp. ground Cinnamon
- 7 tbsp. Shortening
- ¼ cups Agave Nectar, Fruit Sweetener or Brown Rice Syrup
In a large bowl, stir together the oats, oat flour, chopped nuts, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, and cinnamon. Cut in the shortening a little at a time until the mixture resembled course peas. Drizzle the agave nectar on top and stir well to combine. The mixture needs to be well mixed to hold together in the pie shell. Press this mixture into a greased pie shell and bake at a preheated temperature of 350 f for 15 to 20 minutes or fill with Apple Pie Filling or another choice of filling and bake according to the directions.
